Change of Plans
I have Rebecca's permission to make this post, since she has no access to blogger.com over there. A conversation was begun yesterday in which she asked when MidSouth Con would be. We told her March. She asked if a random African could tag along.
Say what?
That's right, boys and girls, Rebecca Cook is coming home! And about 6 months earlier than planned. Here is her LiveJournal post about it, for those of you who don't read LiveJournal.
"An Astrlogical Miscalculation" (or "I'll Be Home for Christmas")
So experts who had intially all agreed that Bec's Comet would be passing over the US around July 2006 realised that the figures were all wrong due to the inclusion of one extra jelly donut in the calculations. Upon removal of the excess pastry the knew calculation place the comet's arrival at the end of July 2007. This was also scrapped upon the discovery of a small gerbil who had apparently entered into the works in search of the afore-mentioned donut.
Now this past week, after the discovery of 12 easter pastel monkeys hiding under a fraction in page 9874 the entire set was scrapped and refigured in a very sugar and rodent and primate free sort of way.
The comet should come into full view somewhere around the 14th of December, 2006. Keep your eyes to the skies. (or to this lj for further flight arrival details)
Snow . . . just the thought scares me.
