DON'T PANIC
People and dolphins rejoice!! This weekend The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy movie will open. I myself plan to be there, towel in hand, for the Saturday matinee showing (cause that's the only time I can get people to go with me). For those of you unfamiliar with this topic (statistically, there has to be at least 1...somewhere out there), it's based on the series of books by the late Douglas Adams. I highly recommend the books to anybody who has even the smallest funnybone in their body. If you're interested in seeing some screenshots/cast info/random stuff on the movie here is the official website:

On a more personal note, I'm very anxious to see this movie, yet at the same time slightly wary. This is many due to the many mixed reviews out there. Many people are complaining that it's not completely true to the books or the radio show. Many people are wondering what this movie's "tom bombadil" will be. Personally, I don't want to over analyze everything (but i probably will anyway). I know from the preview that there will be all the main characters (albeit not quite the way I pictured them), 42, dolphins, the whale and the petunias, Slartiblartfast and his fjords, bad poetry, and Pangalactic Gargleblasters. What i'm not sure about it the Babel Fish. The rest is pretty much gravy.
On a similarly related note, Fellow Guide fan and webcomic artist Greg Dean has been running comic strips this week where the main character is camping out for the movie. Aparently he's the only one who had this idea though and is constantly harassed by the Episode III campers.
I'll probably update or at least post some comments here after seeing the movie. I would like to know if anybody else is planning on seeing it though.

Baseball Update
Auburn Tigers
The Tigers have gone 3-4 since my last update, bringing the team's record to 26-17 overall, but a mediocre 8-10 in SEC play. The Tigers took 2 out of 3 from Kentucky on the road on the weekend of April 15-17, taking Game 1 8-4, losing the middle game 6-2, and winning Game 3 4-3. Auburn then ran into a buzz saw at home against Florida, losing all 3 games in the series (4-2, 5-4, and 6-3). In the middle game (4/23), Auburn actually made it onto Sportscenter due to an Inside the Park Grand Slam by LF Jeff Boutwell. They then managed to lose 5-4. The Tigers took out their frustrations on helpless Samford on Tuesday in Auburn, crushing them 8-1.
Alumni in the MLB
Colter Bean was recently called up by the New York Yankees. He pitched 2 innings and allowed 1 ER (one hit and two walks) in his only appearance so far this season against The The Angels Angels.
Mark Bellhorn of the Boston Red Sox has had a rough past couple of weeks. His average has dropped to .229 and his 10 walks have been overshadowed by 28 strikeouts through 21 games.
Chris Bootcheck of The The Angels Angels hasn't allowed a single earned run all year so far! AMAZING! Helps that he's thrown a grand total of 5 innings 2 games so far.
Tim Hudson of the Atlanta Braves continues to kick ass in the NL. In his 4 starts, he has allowed a TOTAL of 3 runs in 28 innings, compiling a 2-0 record (yes, the Braves' lineup sucks so much that he has given up 3 runs in 4 starts and has only won two of them).
That's all of the players who have actually played since my last update. As for Colter Bean...well, there's one in every family. He's "that one" in the Auburn family.

Auburn's Historic Draft Day
It was a good weekend to be an Auburn Tiger.
Ronnie Brown was the 2nd overall pick in the NFL draft, going to the Miami Dolphins. Brown can now look forward to two games per season against the Buffalo Bills, New York Jets, and New England Patriots, which should be quite a challenge.
Carnell Williams was the 5th overall pick in the NFL draft, going to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Rejoice, Robert!). Williams and Brown became the highest drafted RB combo from the same school in NFL history.
Carlos Rogers was the 9th overall pick in the NFL draft, going to the Washington Redskins. This was the first time that 3 teammates had all become Top 10 picks since Penn State in 1995.
Jason Campbell was the 25th overall pick in the NFL draft, going to the Washington Redskins. This was quite a controversial pick by Washington, as they gave up 3 draft picks (1 this year, 2 next year including a 1st rounder) in order to move up to draft Campbell, when Joe Gibbs already has two NFL-capable QBs on the roster. Campbell's 1st round selection made Auburn the first school in SEC history to have 4 1st round draft picks in the same draft.
Jay Ratliff was the 224th overall pick in the NFL draft (10th pick of the 7th round), going to the Dallas Cowboys.
Silas Daniels, Junior Rosegreen, Bret Eddins, and Danny Lindsey all went undrafted. Rosegreen is the most likely to get a chance in the NFL and be signed as an undrafted rookie free agent.
All times Central. War Damn Eagle.
