Helping Out Teachers and Schools
After spending some time in Jessica Eastman's LiveJournal, I discovered a company called DonorsChoose. Apparently teachers can go there and submit proposals for things they need for their classroom, then people and companies can go in and donate as much or as little as they choose. I had never heard of a company such as this before, but it's such a great idea! I know teachers can claim up to $350 on their tax return for their personal money that they spent in the classroom, but we spend soooo much more than that in any given year. I know I've already spent close to $200 and the school year just started on Thursday. Anyway, I mentioned this website to another teacher-friend of mine and she directed to me to another one, iloveschools.com. It's the same basic concept as the first, but teachers from anywhere can submit their proposals. (DonorsChoose is limited to a few small areas in California and the Carolinas.) Due to the growing number of teachers on this blog, I thought I would post this information. I'm also going to pass this information along to my family members, and I would love it if y'all would do the same, so that we can get this out there to the "corporate world". I'm in process of adding items to my account on iloveschools, Jessica has already submitted a proposal and had it met at DonorsChoose, and I hope Matt and Michele will soon post something for their rooms.
Anyway, I just wanted to inform everyone as to what is out there, since I myself had no idea! Here is the information I have at the moment. I will post more later if I learn more.

Missing Brounie / Reclusive Brounies Update
Hey guys, I was thinking about Matthew Brickell today and I tried sending him an email but it came back. Does anyone have his new information? I haven't heard from him in a year or so.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jared told me a while back that someone was asking about some former Brounies that don't post on here. I'll try and see if they are interested. In the mean time, here are some updates:
Katie (Blackmar) is still in London studying to get her doctorate in aersopace engineering. For those that don't know she got one of the Marshall scholarships. She has a really sweet British boyfriend and we got to meet him in April when they and Polly came for a visit.
Polly has recently moved to Denver, CO to live with her brother and SIL. She is going to be a part-time nanny to her 8 mo old niece, Maddy, and in general get a new start in a beautiful place.
Matt Christopher (remember him?) and his wife Holly have a baby girl, Machaira, who is probably about 9 months old right now. I hunted him down about a year ago and gave him a pretty stern talking to for disappearing for so long. He is an architect and is living in Georgia.
Hmm that's all the new news I know. If you need anyone's contact information just email me.

Addresses
11 months, 5 days and counting until the wedding. So, turns out it's time for me to start to collect addresses. Basically, I need every single one of you (this includes you lurkers who read but don't post) to e-mail me your address to my hotmail account listed in the sidebar here. For privacy reasons, it would obviously be unwise for anyone to post personal info like that in a comment, hence the request for e-mails. A uniform subject line "Address" would be helpful, given the number of e-mails I hope to be getting on the subject. I should already have the addresses for a few of you (particularly if I was at your wedding recently), but I would like to point out that I am rather poor at keeping track of non-electronic information. Your timely response would be greatly appreciated.
All times Central. War Damn Eagle.
